Installing Equity and Child Theme

Step #1 – Installing Equity:

1. Log in to your WordPress site
2. Hover over the “Appearance” in the left sidebar until its sub-menu is revealed
3. In the sub-menu of “Appearance” click “Themes”
4. At the top of the page click the “Add New” button
5. At the top, click the “Upload Theme” button
6. Click “choose file” and select the equity.zip file you downloaded after purchasing.
7. Click install now, then click “Activate”
8. Once you install and activate Equity you can now install the child theme.

Step #2 – Installing Child Theme:

1. Within your WordPress website hover over “Appearance” in the left sidebar and click Themes in the sub-menu.
2. At the top of the page click the “Add New” button
3. At the top, click the “Upload Theme” button
4. Click “choose file” and select the child theme zip file you downloaded from your agent evolution account.
5. Click install now, then click “Activate”.

Step #3 – Importing sample content (xml file)

1. Hover over the “Tools” link on the left sidebar to reveal its sub-menu
2. Click “Import” in the sub-menu of “Tools”
3. Click “WordPress”
4. If not already installed, you will need to click the “Install Now” button in the right corner of the pop-up.
5. Click “Active Plugin & Run Importer”
6. Click “Choose file”
7. Select the XML file with content in its name from within the XML folder of your extracted child theme.
8. Click “upload file and import”
9. Select an existing author for “import author”
10. Check box under “Import Attachments” to “Download and import file attachments”
11. Click “Submit”

Step #4 – Importing widget areas (wie file)

Note: Make sure the Impress for IDX Broker plug-in is installed first and the clients API key is added under Impress –> Initial Settings.

1. Install and activate the Widget Importer & Exporter plugin
2. Click “Widget Importer & Exporter” in the sub-menu of “Tools”
3. Click “Choose File”
4. Select the .wie file that has idxbroker in the name from within the XML folder of your extracted child theme.
5. Click “Import Widgets”

The Equity Framework and Child theme should now be ready to go and you can now start editing the site.
