IDX Dynamic Wrapper and WP Engine

Hey guys,

I recently had an issue where a site hosted on WP Engine wasn’t pulling the dynamic wrapper. We were able to figure out the problem so I thought I’d share it with you here in case anyone else ran into this problem.

Here’s the response I got from WP Engine support:

I identified that IDX’s user agent was being redirected back to the home page due to some rules we have set up on every install by default. This was causing the IDX page to not work correctly. To resolve the issue, I disabled a setting called Redirect Bots on the account. As soon as we made that change, the IDX page works as expected.

This is a setting that needs to be disabled on a per-install basis, so if you have any other installs you would like this disabled on, please let us know.
