Yes, I remember having to adjust some CSS on that widget to widen the display of the button. Its not a theme issue, it’s with the IDX css.
If you share your link I can be more specific.

Hi Lori,
The entry controlling the spacing is this:
.IDX-refinementSearchRight div input {
display:block;
width:90px
}I would remove or increase that 90px value until it looks how you would like. I would put this change in your widget or custom css area in the idx control panel.
